ENTRY NO. 26 - Good Night Light

Good Night Light

short of sixty the unspoken slow grasp
claimed him for taken

the grief hasn’t relieved
my mind ponders to
trips in ancient lands he adored,
Father-like and graceful
he taught me what I am on
the walk in the Pyramids ripping
my thin sandals and sharp sand
between my toes the Nile we crossed together
in the cool of the night’s breeze calls me,
to pay my respects to his honor.

between the Potomac and the Nile,
silent, warm tears remind me
behind closed sockets
you squeeze my shoulders,
"wait until you see ... this Nile ... and these Pyramids."

I smile and let my tears fill rivers and monuments

When reading this I think of Prophet Mohammed (peace be up him) it's my dream to go one day to Saudi Arabia and walk on the ground that the Prophet and his companions walked and lived on. The holy land... the land of Rasulullah. Priceless 5
